Dr. Jay Mosser

My family and I have served here since 2001. My time is given to three primary tasks: preaching and teaching, pastoral care, and leadership. I believe that God’s Word should be preached passionately. Diligent pastoral care reflects God’s heart for people, and without leadership a church cannot move forward. I am grateful to my wife Kathy and our girls for their involvement and to both Western Seminary and Corban School of Ministry in preparing me for ministry.

After a lengthy search, my wife Karen and I were delighted to find a church that featured strong Bible-centered preaching and an atmosphere of gospel-informed action. We joined Sunset Bible Church in 2006 and, in 2008, I left my career in IT to join the staff, primarily focusing on local and global outreach. I am so excited to see the family at Sunset deeply engaged in our community and world, demonstrating the biblical values of love and compassion!

Our family began attending Sunset in the Spring of 2016 and I joined the staff later that year. We appreciated Sunset’s commitment to faithfully teaching and preaching from Scripture and their engagement with the local community. I am passionate about studying Scripture and seeing the change it brings in the lives of believers. I am excited to see what God will do in and through Sunset in the coming years and consider myself privileged to see and be a part of what God has for us in the future.

Ben McCardell

God first brought me to Sunset Bible Church to serve as a pastoral intern in the summer months of 2015. Fresh out of undergraduate school, I was able to get my ministry feet wet before culminating the summer by participating in a wedding as the groom. After my wife, Jori Anne and I were married, we returned to Chicago for further education at the school where we first met. We are very excited that God has brought us back to Sunset to be active members of what God is already doing in this community. As a people minded person, I greatly look forward to continuing to build meaningful relationships in a variety of contexts that both edify and encourage a closer walk with Jesus.

Luke Bury
Assistant Pastor – Worship & Youth
After graduating from Moody Bible Institute in December of 2015, God led me from my hometown in southern Maryland to Sunset Bible Church to serve as the Worship Leader. In 2019 I also took on the role of Youth Pastor. I love leading our congregation in worship and pointing youth to God through Christ-centered teaching and genuine relationships. After marrying my wife Jessica in 2018, our greatest privilege here at Sunset is to serve God together as a team. We love living here in the PNW, getting out to explore the mountains, and of course drinking lots of coffee!
