We’d like you to meet our staff! We currently have two full-time pastors. Below, you’ll find some info about who they are and how they and their families serve at Sunset Bible Church.
Dr. Jay Mosser
My family and I have served here since 2001. My time is given to three primary tasks: preaching and teaching, pastoral care, and leadership. I believe that God’s Word should be preached passionately. Diligent pastoral care reflects God’s heart for people, and without leadership a church cannot move forward. I am grateful to my wife Kathy and our girls for their involvement and to both Western Seminary and Corban School of Ministry in preparing me for ministry.

Rev. Tyler Pease
After a lengthy search, my wife Karen and I were delighted to find a church that featured strong Bible-centered preaching and an atmosphere of gospel-informed action. We joined Sunset Bible Church in 2006 and, in 2008, I left my career in IT to join the staff, primarily focusing on local and global outreach. I am so excited to see the family at Sunset deeply engaged in our community and world, demonstrating the biblical values of love and compassion! I am also privileged to work with our teenagers and value seeing them pursuing Jesus and being a part of what He is doing in our community.
BS, Computing and Software Systems, University of Washington
M. Div., Church Leadership, Corban University
Our family began attending Sunset in the Spring of 2016 and I joined the staff later that year. We appreciated Sunset’s commitment to faithfully teaching and preaching from Scripture and their engagement with the local community. I am passionate about studying Scripture and seeing the change it brings in the lives of believers. I am excited to see what God will do in and through Sunset in the coming years and consider myself privileged to see and be a part of what God has for us in the future.
BS, Philosophy and Religion, Liberty University
M. Div., Biblical Languages, Northwest Baptist Seminary
ThM (ABT), New Testament, Northwest Baptist Seminary
God first brought me to Sunset Bible Church to serve as a pastoral intern in the summer months of 2015. Fresh out of undergraduate school, I was able to get my ministry feet wet before culminating the summer by participating in a wedding as the groom. After my wife, Jori Anne and I were married, we returned to Chicago for further education at the school where we first met. We are very excited that God has brought us back to Sunset to be active members of what God is already doing in this community. As a people minded person, I greatly look forward to continuing to build meaningful relationships in a variety of contexts that both edify and encourage a closer walk with Jesus.

As a recent college graduate and outdoor enthusiast, moving back home to sleepy southern Maryland after school was definitely not in the long term plans. After a few adventures and working in outdoor retail for a couple months, I was waiting for God to open a door somehow, somewhere. This opportunity came along sooner then even I expected with the connection of Sunset Bible Church and a chance for a one year pastoral internship. Planning to go into vocational ministry at some point, I graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with a degree in Pastoral Studies and Theology, hoping to combine my love of music with the need for pastorally minded worship leaders. After spending a few years leading worship in a small church in Chicago, I am incredibly excited to become part of the worship team at Sunset Bible, and I am also excited to have the chance to work alongside Pastor Tyler, engaging, challenging and encouraging the youth at the church.
